Hand Embroidered Lucknowi Chikankari
For centuries, this art form has been passed down through generations. It's taught by hand. Perfected over years. Carried forward by artisans who pour time, skill, and patience into every single stitch.
We’re not here to change that.
We’re here to protect it. To give it space to grow.
And to make sure the people behind the work—the real hands keeping this story alive—continue to thrive.
Every piece we make is a collaboration.
Between old techniques and modern design.
Between tradition and today.
Between the artisans who make it and the people who wear it.
Because Chikankari isn't just embroidery.
It's history you can feel, And it deserves to be worn, shared, and celebrated.

Founder's story
Meet Priyanka Singh, the heart behind Semal Handicrafts.
A craft lover, traveler, and passionate advocate for sustainability, Priyanka spent 15 years in the corporate world before answering a deeper calling — to build something more personal, more meaningful. With a background in Fashion Design from Pearl Academy, Delhi, and a lifelong love for India’s handcrafted traditions, she founded Semal Handicrafts in 2021.
Semal was born out of a simple yet powerful belief: that fashion can be beautiful, comfortable, and responsible — and rooted in real human connection.
"I’ve always believed in the power of handcraft — it’s not just about what you wear, but how it makes you feel, and the story it carries with it."
Through Semal, Priyanka brings forward her vision of clothing that honors the timeless art of Chikankari embroidery, supports sustainable practices, and celebrates the spirit of modern women. Today, every Semal piece carries the touch of a human hand, the softness of fine cotton, and the spirit of freedom that inspired its beginning.
